Atlanta Tastemaker Magazine's 1st Annual B. FAB Awards

B. FAB stands for Bloggers in Fashion & Beauty.  The B. FAB Awards Brunch brought to you by Atlanta Tastemaker Magazine was a celebration of Atlanta's top bloggers who have made amazing contributions to the fashion and beauty industry. (from the flyer)  And OH what a celebration it was!  Held inside the beautifully grungy Ambient Studio, Atlanta's urban warehouse district was the perfect contrasting backdrop for this trendy, upscale affair.

I love blogging.  I love natural hair.  I love my sisters.  I love Atlanta.  This was the place to be for me.  Guests were invited to network and mingle during the buffet style brunch.

Most of the nominees are people that I already know and love.  It was great to see them be honored.  Its not easy being a blogger/vlogger and putting yourself out there for the world to critique.  Much respect for them all.

Best Vlogger Nominee

Atlanta's natural hair community really embraced this event.

Fan Favorite Nominee & Winner

CEO of Naturally Me Media (Fro Fashion Week)

The mellow sounds of a live band is what every event needs in my opinion.

The coolest thing ever was Social Box!  Social Box is a unique Photo & Video booth that allows the event host to document what the guests are experiencing and thinking during the event!

Check me out inside the Social Box!

The awards portion was very organized and well executed.  Guests were seated comfortably and treated to gift bags.

Between the presentation of the nominees and the announcement of the winners there was a fashion show.  The models rocked the runway!

I had a wonderful time at this event and will definitely attend again.  Kudos to Atlanta Tastemaker Magazine for doing something different and putting on such an awesome upscale gathering.  Congratulations to all of the nominees and especially to the winners.  Events like these are why I love Atlanta.

Blogalicious ATL!

I attended a wonderful Blogalicious Meetup event hosted by Lamar & Ronnie Tyler of BlackAndMarriedWithKids.  It was held at the Hudson Grille in midtown Atlanta. A precursor or teaser even for the major Blogalicious Weekend event that is being held this year in Washington D.C., it was the place to be if you are a blogger who is passionate about what you blog about and you like to mingle.  There was a panel of successful bloggers there to share their stories and to answer questions.  We were able to see part of a Be Blogalicious documentary. There were giveaways, information, good food & drink and much, much more.  It was a packed house full of fascinating people.

The panel included: Stacey of Justice Fergie; Danica Kombol of Be Everywhere, and Bren Herrera of Flanboyant Eats.   Lamar Tyler was the MC along with his lovely wife, Ronnie.  We learned about choosing a niche, determining your passion, when is the right time to call in a professional, promoting your brand, the importance of Networking and the list goes on.

This was an interesting, informative and very well put together mixer.  I really enjoyed myself and I learned so much.  I see a Blogalicious Weekend event in my future!!!  In the meantime, for more information on Blogalicious Weekend and how to register check out their website!  http://beblogalicious.com/

Thai "Tweet Up" in Atlanta

I attended my very 1st "Tweet Up" last nite.  What is a "Tweet Up" you might ask.  A "Tweet Up" is a meeting that takes place amongst people who are connected someway or another on Twitter.  This event was hosted by a Twitter friend of mine named @SwarthyDaisy.  @SwarthyDaisy and I have been friends on Twitter for quite some time so i was very excited when I heard that she was putting this event together.  Held at Thai Fusion and aptly called "Thai Tweet Up" this meeting far exceeded anything that i expected.  I found the ambiance of the restuarant to be very inviting.

I was greeted at the door by @SwarthyDaisy.  Even though she and I have attended several of the same events, we had never met face to face.  Its always fun meeting people that i have chatted with online.  She is just as friendly and outgoing as i thought she'd be.  I was the 1st one there so I helped her and her husband set up the giftbags that she'd prepared for us.

The bags were filled with various items that I cant wait to try!!

I especially loved my pick!!
As the guests arrived one by one we were all introduced and began to mingle.  I met some AMAZING people from various online arenas.  The area of Women & Finance was represented by @AndreaAmir founder of Smart Money Chicks a site that helps to create financially savvy women through education, webinars, discussions and events.  Health & Wellness was represented by Dalia Kinsey (@EatingBeautiful) She is the creator of EatingBeautiful.com a site that explains how we can escape the diet trap by making certain lifestyle changes.  In the area of Technology we were introduced to Reggie Levine.  Reggie has a website and a YouTube channel dedicated to giving advice, demonstrations and tutorials on all of the latest gadgets from phones to keyboards to gaming system controllers.  You can find him on Twitter @LeReg on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/LeReg and on the net http://www.reggielevine.net/Art, Photography & Jewelry was represented by Wilma Jean aka @MsLeJean.  Her "She" art series is outstanding and I am hoping to grace my walls with one of her pieces soon.  Do yourself a favor and check out her work http://wilmajean.com/.  Other folk in the house were @WritesALot, @HelloLT, @Lucy_Pearl, @hicksgirl93, @WatchTheShoes, @JavonStyles. @uncleshecky and @LadyLovelyPeace <~~ A SUPER Positive chick that I was already following on Twitter...
Long Story Short

We ate good food...

We networked...
 We shared ideas and resources...

We had a GREAT time...
